Eliane Brum is the author of nine books, including Banzeiro Òkòtó: The Amazon as the Center of the World (Indigo) and The Collector of Leftover Souls (Granta). One of Brazil’s most award-winning journalists, in 2021 she received the Maria Moors Cabot Prize from Columbia University for her body of work. In 2025, she was chosen as the World’s Top Thinker of 2025 by Prospect. She is the creator, founder, and director of the Amazon-based trilingual platform Sumaúma.
